Rod grew up on the family farm in Seward, Nebraska, where he graduated from Seward High School in 1973. He attended Southeast Community College, studying Electrical Technology after which he participated in an internship in Douglas, Wyoming. Returning to the farm in 1977 to work with his father, Rod spent the next several years in the family farming operation, a passion he continues along with his work in the ministry. Rod began the process toward United Methodist ministry in 2000, and completed “License to Preach” school in 2001, after which he was appointed to serve as the senior pastor for the Conestoga Parish. He has been instrumental in bringing regular seasonal Bible Studies to the Parish, including Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, and various studies on faith, health and wellness, Advent and Lenten studies. Rod is the father of four, and grandfather to four! He and his wife Ann, live near Seward with their youngest child, Kevin, a student at Seward Middle School. Rod enjoys golfing, reading, and relaxing with friends when possible.
Zach is a native of
Wahoo, Nebraska. After graduating from Wahoo High School, he obtained his
Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Doane College. While at Doane,
Zach was active in the Greek Council, Relay for Life, Alpha Pi Epsilon
Fraternity, and a teaching assistant. During college, he spent time as a youth
director at two churches. Following graduation from Doane, Zach enrolled at
Saint Paul School of Theology seeking a Master of Divinity degree and plans to
graduate in May of 2011. During his first year, he was the intern to the
University Minister at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas. Zach was
appointed to the Conestoga Parish as associate pastor on July 1, 2008. Zach's
primary responsibilities are worship leadership and Christian education. His
other passions in the church include Peace with Justice Ministries, mission and
outreach, and being a Safe Sanctuaries Trainer. In his free time, Zach enjoys
golfing, seeing the latest movies, and sitting around the fire pit.
